Italian cosmetics grew 106 per cent in the Turkish market in the last two years

Participating in the Beauty Istanbul 2024 Fair with the Italian National Pavilion organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), Italian cosmetics manufacturers presented their innovative and high quality products to the Turkish and international business world, while Italian Ambassador to Ankara Giorgio Marrapodi visited the fair and chatted with the participating Italian companies.

Marco Pintus, Director of ITA Istanbul, pointed out that there has been a significant increase in Turkey’s cosmetics imports in recent years and stated that in 2023, a value of 134 million USD was achieved in cosmetics exports to Turkey and said, ‘This figure was recorded as the highest cosmetics exports made by Italy to Turkey to date. Italian cosmetic products have grown by 106 per cent in the last two years, increasing its share in the Turkish market to 9 per cent.’

Organising an important event to increase the competitiveness of the Italian cosmetics industry worldwide and to promote its innovative products on the international platform, ITA reported that 134 million USD worth of cosmetics exports were made to Turkey last year.

ITA Istanbul Director Marco Pintus pointed out that there has been a significant increase in Turkey’s cosmetics imports in recent years, and emphasised that Italy, as a global player, exported 8.2 billion USD worth of cosmetics last year, and that there has been a significant increase of 30 percent in its exports to Turkey. Stating that a value of 134 million USD was obtained in cosmetic exports to Turkey last year, Pintus said, ‘This figure was recorded as the highest cosmetic exports made by Italy to Turkey to date. Italian cosmetic products have grown by 106 per cent in the last two years, increasing its share in the Turkish market to 9 per cent. Italy ranks third in Turkey’s cosmetics imports after France and Germany.’

Known for their strong commitment to sustainable natural ingredients and high safety standards, Italian cosmetics manufacturers underlined the importance that the Italian cosmetics industry attaches to innovation and quality at the Beauty Istanbul 2024 Fair. The fair, which contributed to the establishment of closer relations between Italian cosmetics manufacturers and the Turkish business world and to the increase in mutual trade volume, became an important meeting point for business professionals.
